Technology

Z-View Aberrometer

Z-View Aberrometer

Did you know your eyes are like fingerprints? No two eyes are alike-not even your own two. Yet, until now the technology did not exist to customize glasses to your ocular fingerprint, or iPrint. The Z-View Aberrometer is the instrument used to create your very own iPrint.

In just one minute, your doctor can detect microscopic irregularities-or higher order aberrations-of the eye that can cause distortions and often times compromise our quality of vision—affecting things such as depth perception, crispness, contrast, color perception and even nighttime vision.

Pentacam

Pentacam

The Pentacam is a three in one instrument. It gives us a 3D image of the cornea (front surface of the eye) that aids in disease detection and contact lens fitting.

It will measure the center thickness of the cornea, which helps in glaucoma management and refractive surgery. It also takes a picture of the front third of the eye which assists in cataract detection and glaucoma diagnosis. It does all three measures within 15 seconds.

Diopsys NOVA-VEP

Diopsys NOVA-VEP

The Diopsys NOVA-VEP Vision Testing System is a painless, non-invasive vision test that objectively measures the function of the entire visual pathway from the eyes to the visual center of the brain. The Diopsys NOVA device does this by using a technology called Visual Evoked Potential (VEP).

VEP has been demonstrated to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of many disorders including amblyopia, brain injury, stroke, glaucoma, multiple sclerosis, and other vision-related issue. The purpose of this series of tests is to provide comprehensive diagnostic information to better plan your treatment and monitor the results.

IOL Master

IOL Master

Now that we can implant a lens into the eye to replace the natural crystalline lens removed during cataract surgery, the question arises as to how strong the implanted lens should be.

NEOVision Group uses the most advanced technology , the IOLMaster, to obtain this important information. It measures the axial length along the eye’s visual axis directly to the macula. Its measurements are highly consistent providing optimal vision postoperatively.

Fundus Camera

Fundus Camera

The Nidek auto focus fundus camera allows us to quickly take 3D retinal photos. The photos help us to follow and manage glaucoma and macular degeneration.

Specular Microscopy

Specular Microscopy

The Cornea (the clear front window of the eye) consists of five layers. The inner most layer is called the endothelium. This layer consists of specialized cells called endothelial cells that cover the posterior surface of the cornea. The primary purpose of these cells is to maintain the health and transparency of the cornea.

Advanced age, disease, injury and contact lens complications can cause significant reduction in endothelial cell density. When this occurs, the cornea becomes hazy causing glare and decreased vision.

Specular Microscopy is a noninvasive photographic technique that allows your doctor to visualize and analyze the corneal endothelium. Early detection of cell loss will result in prompt treatment reducing the risk of corneal edema (swelling) and helping to maintain corneal health.

Zeiss Cirrus HD-OCT

Zeiss Cirrus HD-OCT

The Zeiss Cirrus HD-OCT uses a laser to take precise measurements of the retina and optic nerve. It aids in the diagnosis and management of glaucoma and macular degeneration.

Humphrey Field analyzer

Humphrey Field AnalyzerThe Humphrey Field Analyzer is used to detect changes in the side vision caused by glaucoma and other diseases. It is very important in following glaucoma treatment to check for any progression of side vision loss.

Even life threatening conditions such as brain tumors and tumors behind the eye can be detected with a visual field exam.
